JOINT WITH CHRIST IN GLORY, PART 5

2nd Corinthians 3:7-11, “Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!” The ministry that brought death is the ministry of the law of sin and death, of condemnation, of the works of the flesh and it was glorious in itself so much so that the Israelites could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory. But we are not under that ministry, we are under the ministry of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. In the book of Romans 7:6, “But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.” 2nd Corinthians 3:6, “He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” The Spirit is offering us life, love, peace, and glory (the one that lasts, never fades, and is eternal). The ministry that came with the law condemns and kills – ‘for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.’ So Jesus, when He died to sin, released us from the bondage and lordship of the law, and now we can serve Him in the Spirit – we are serving in Spirit and in truth. We have all that the Spirit gives; it is deposited in us. So if the ministry that fades away is glorious, the ministry of the Spirit is much more glorious because it lasts and endures. We want to look at a few things that make the glory to last and endure unto eternity. Daniel 12:2, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” That is the glory we carry.

(1) Soul winning; the glory that comes in soul-winning. If you win souls, you will shine like the brightness of the heavens. There is no darkness there, and you don’t need the light of the lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give you light and you will reign forever and ever. When you are a soul-winner, there is a glory that comes with it. You will be shining like the brightness of heaven without sun or moon. When light enters, darkness disappears. When you have the light that is shining, what is that darkness that will dare you? Darkness can be sickness, disease, failure, condemnation, weakness, limitation, or the curse, and it will never dare you because you are light. For He makes His light to shine in our hearts. Praise be to God! That is one reason why your glory will last unto eternity; “…those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” You don’t have down moments. You can’t say, “I am down” because you will never be down, you are ever up. You will be up and not down. You will be the head and not the tail. There are no down moments, you are forever shining.

(2) From the book of Matthew 10:42, “If anyone even gives a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he’s My disciple, I tell you the truth, he will never lose his reward.” He will never what? Lose his reward. God touched the heart of somebody we don’t know to gift the church with new chairs through the ministry of Evangelist Lubi. The gift wasn’t for one person but to the whole church. The person will be blessed in your receiving. If anyone even gives a cup of what? A cup of cold water, just a cup to one of these little ones because he’s My disciple. Any favour you do to a person who has the Spirit, to the man of the Spirit, to the man of the heart, is never in vain because he’s a disciple; a brother or a sister. The truth is that you will never fail to be rewarded. And if you have sown the seed, wait for the day of harvest. Your day of reward will surely come. You have done it with the love of Christ, with the love of the Lord and your day of receiving shall come in Jesus’ name. Givers never lack. This will encourage you to show love, to give and not to withhold. You have faith in the Word. The Word says that if you give even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones, because he is a child of God, the truth is that you will never fail to be rewarded. Sowing is reaping. When you sow, you will reap abundantly. So number two is that your service you do it with humility. Just a cup that you have and you give, will be rewarded. When you are rewarded, you are shining. You shine in your humble service. It goes as if one is not noticing what is in the cup of water. But look at it, before God, that cup of water is more than a million. If you can be rewarded just because of a cup of water, when you do so much, much more than a cup of water, you know what the reward will be. Go on. You want to do good? Do it, surely you will be rewarded. If not by man, God will reward you.

(3) Matthew 25:23, “And his master replied, well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share in your master’s happiness.” Praise be to God! Do you hear the voice? Have you been so faithful? Where you will be shining is where you are a faithful steward, in your stewardship. What is the assignment given to you? What do you do in the house of God? How do you carry on your ministry? Every one of us, we have a ministry. Nobody is stopping you. What you want to do in the service of God? It is open to you. Take a decision, so that you can hear the voice. The voice will come to you, “well done, good and faithful servant.” See the very strong words. “Well done,” you have been appreciated and commended. You are approved, accepted, and encouraged. “Well done, good…” You are good because you have Christ in you. Christ cannot be in you and you are bad. Once He is in you, the bad is gone. You have overcome the evil; the nightmare, the weakness, the pain, the limitation, you have overcome it. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” See yourself as a good person. That is the way God is seeing you; that is the way the Word has declared you. The Word has spoken about you that you are good. Agree with the word that you are good; you are not bad. You have the Spirit of God; you are the temple of the living God; you are a child of God; you have the nature of God. You can’t have all of this and you will not be good. You are good, righteous, and holy. What gives you eternal glory, the lasting glory? One of the points is being a faithful steward, fulfilling your ministry. You have been faithful in a few things; you will be put in charge of many things. You are going higher; your promotion has come; you can’t be the same again. The Word will never fail to fulfill its own part of the deal. When you live and serve faithfully, the Word will come and bless you. The Word says you will be in charge of many, and before the year runs out, you will be enlarged and you will increase and multiply. And in the coming years, you will be extraordinarily flowing in divine abundance in Jesus’ name. You are managing a little? Don’t complain, just do it faithfully. Then wait and see this Word coming to fulfillment in your life. You don’t have to beg for it, your promotion will come. They will give it to you with commendations. Come and share in your master’s happiness. Where the master is, you are there; you are in the same space. You are never inferior; you are in the same class. Come and share in your master’s happiness. What makes the boss to be happy and makes him the boss? They will call you the boss one day in the name of Jesus. What makes the boss to be boss? The master to be master? You have it; it is in you. You are capable and competent. For He says, “He made us to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” You are competent, not of your own power, but your competence is from God, who has anointed you, who has empowered you, who has commissioned you for this service. The Bible says, Jesus ascended on high, He led captives in His train, and He gave gifts to men. The anointing, the giftings, the skilling, whatever you need to perform at that higher level, you have it and you will perform, you will even outshine the master you were serving under. Because what? You have the ministry of the Spirit. Your joy has come, joy overflows in your heart in the name of Jesus. So when you are faithful, you will shine with a glory that lasts forever and ever. It doesn’t have to do with your age.

The next is Luke 6:35, “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” What most people in the natural know is that they hate their enemies. They carry the spirit of the adversary, hatred, and selfishness. Hatred is the spirit of the adversary, the spirit that condemns and kills. When you find someone who is loving his enemies, that person is an extraordinary person. You know that this is your enemy, and you love that person. Those who don’t have or confess Jesus as Lord, they are enemies of God. If you don’t have the Spirit of Christ, you don’t belong to Him. When you have the Spirit of Christ, you belong to Christ. When they were stoning Christ, the person stoning Christ is an enemy of Christ. But what was Christ doing? He said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they doing.” As they were killing Him, He was praying for them. Is it not hard? It’s a very hard one. But when you have the Spirit of Christ, you will do like Him; you will imitate Him. Christ said, “Be imitators of Me.” Christ is always loving, He never hated. Those who were killing Him, He was loving and saving them by shedding His blood for them, because God does not want anyone to perish. But He wants all to be saved. When you hate people, you want them to perish. But when you love them, unconditional love, as they are hating you, you are praying for them. Love your enemies and do good to them. Lend to them if they want to borrow from you. Lend to them without ever expecting anything back. Then what will your reward be? Your reward will be great. Great shall be your reward. The enemy will never love those who hate them. Because you have the Spirit of Christ, you love those who hate you. When you love those who hate you, you are doing it for yourself. The person who hates you is only a beneficiary. He is only benefiting from your act of kindness. It is then that we have peace and rest of mind. If they hate you and you hate them, you will be having sleepless nights. Anytime you see them, your blood pressure will rise, you will be confused and offended, you will be bitter, you will be angry with them. Immediately you see somebody whom you think hates you, your body chemistry will change, the atmosphere will change and confusion will set in. But when you are prepared to love them, you have peace. If you greet the person, whether the person answers or not, you don’t have problem. Most people are sick because they are holding grudges in their mind. Most of them carry death wishes: “I wish he is dead.” They wish other people dead. That is the nature of the adversary; the adversary does not want anyone to be saved. But God wants all men to be saved. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever that believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John3:16). God does not want anyone to perish. The enemy, the adversary, is having sleepless nights, roaring about, seeking for whom he may devour. He wants to destroy lives, but God wants to save lives. So there is a reward of faithful stewardship; it has promotion and long life in it. And you keep on shining like the brightness of the heavens and like the stars forever and ever. You will go on shining forever and ever in Jesus’ name. Your life is getting better and better every day; the best is yet to come for He who is able to do far exceedingly more than we can ask or imagine is at work in us. God can do more than you can ever imagined. What do you want to be in life? God can do more than what you think you want to be. If you want to be a president, God will give you something more than a president. If you want to be a governor, God can make you something more than a governor, a senator, an ambassador. God can make you something greater than that. What do you aspire for? He can do far exceedingly, immeasurably, you can’t quantify or measure it. You don’t know the whole glory of it, the full package. We only know little of it. Praise be to God! So love your enemies, pray for them, and do good to them. Lend to them, and your reward will be great and you will be sons or children of the Most High. The children of God love everyone without discrimination, the way our Father does. He is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. He causes the rain to fall on both the land of the wicked and the righteous. He does not wait for you to greet Him. He does not wait for you to say thank you before He will bless you. Look at the air we breathe, how much can we pay for? A cylinder of oxygen costs thousands of money, but we are receiving it for free. Praise be to God!

Reading from the book of Romans. 2:10, “But glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good: the Jews first and also the Gentiles.” The glory goes to all nations, no nation is left out. The glory will shine forth across the nations. Whether you are a Jew or a Gentile, it’s not an issue because it does not discriminate; it is boundless and without limitation. The honor the Lord has bestowed on you, the peace you have will last forever and ever in Jesus’ name. That is what the Word has spoken to you. But your glory, honor, and peace will be undisturbed, they will be with you. Be confident that you will never lose them. As you keep serving the Lord, be confident, because you know that your reward is coming. You will be surely rewarded. Don’t throw away your confidence and your service, for it will be abundantly rewarded. So the glory here, the point here is, it is for all nations. What God has purposed for those who love Him is for all nations. No particular nation is favoured, so you don’t have to leave this place before the glory will shine. If you don’t have the glory, whether you are in Nigeria or you are outside the country, it will never shine. But because you have the glory, it doesn’t matter where you come from, whether from a village, a city center, it shines and it’s all surpassing. It lasts from generation to generation, from nation to nation. It is boundless, without boundaries. So that is the number four: the glory is for all nations.

In Ephesians chapter 6 verse 8, “For you know that God will reward everyone for whatever he does, whether slave or free.” To tell you that there is no discrimination. Whether you are a slave or free, whether you are a black or white man, it doesn’t matter. It is beyond your status; whether you are high, mighty, or low, it doesn’t mean. And it doesn’t matter where you are in the society, whether you are at the top, in the middle, or at the bottom, that glory will shine forth. Joseph was a slave in the house of Potiphar and he outshined everyone. You may be a prisoner or a free person, and the glory will shine forth. It doesn’t have to do with any gender, “Oh, I’m a female, therefore, the glory will not shine.” It doesn’t work that way, the glory will shine whether you are a female or you are a male, and it will last forever and ever.

1 Peter 5:4, “And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away”. That is the word for you if you find yourself giving your humble service as a faithful steward or servant. No matter the nation of the world you find yourself, or any level in the social strata, or any status in the society, you are unstoppable. You will wear the crown of glory that will never fade in Jesus’ name. And from the book of Romans 12:11, “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” What have you been through? Are you getting discouraged? Are you being dictated to by the situation of the economy, the hardship outside? What are you facing in the home, in the family? What are you facing in the place of work? Never throw away your confidence or your stardom. Define faith in your spirit; keep the spirit burning; keep the fire burning; do not let your zeal go down. If you have been singing, keep singing; if you have been witnessing, keep witnessing; if you have been doing good, keep doing good; if you have been meditating, keep meditating; if it is giving, give; if it is administration, administer very well; serve the Lord with all faithfulness, and you will surely be rewarded, and the glory will last forever and ever. It’s not a glory for a short time or one that is fake or one that you see. But we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what you see is temporary and what you don’t see is forever, for eternity; it lasts forever and ever; it is all surpassing. That is the glory, the eternal glory that the Lord has prepared us for. He has prepared us as a people of miracles, signs and wonders. That is the lasting glory: It’s not a glory for a short time or a glory that you can measure. He who has called us is faithful, and he can do far exceedingly, immeasurably more than we can ask. How far will your prayer take you? He will do more than what your prayer will do. He’s going to do more than what you can ask. Pray as much as your ability and strength can take you, and God will take care of the remaining. You belong to the glory that lasts and endures; the glory is for eternity and it is all-surpassing; it is not one that will fade away. Your strength will not go down; your ability will not go down. Your body will not fail; your understanding will never be dull, for you have that which is all-surpassing, that lasts forever and ever. This is what the Father has prepared for us; we are extraordinary people, the people of faith. For the ministry we have is a ministry that gives life: It’s the ministry of righteousness, of the Spirit, of love, of power, and of divine wisdom. Praise be to God! With that, we come to the end of our discussions on the glories.

I leave you with the Word.
